Help with video editing program

A good friend of mine recently gave me a gopro 2-numerous mounts, 3 batteries, 32 gig card. Everyone should have a friend like that! Took it out the other day snowkiting and pretty much made myself dizzy watching the playback. I have been going over previous posts on different ways to mount and hopefully will figure that one out.

Being that I am cheap can anyone reccommend a user friendly free video editing download.

Thanks

Windows Live Movie Maker is free and easy. When you upload to YouTube, you should have an option to stabilize the video - it attempts to stop unwanted jiggling and zoom in a bit to crop off the edges.

vReveal is not free but does a bunch of editing stuff and is especially good at stabilizing. It's super easy to use.

I second what Kamikuza said. Windows Live Movie Maker is free and has plenty of editing tools you will want to use. You can slow or speed up footage, flip the image (for when you mount it to the kite), add music, add annotations, change the image quality, add special effects, and you can add stills to the video stream. Very easy to use too.

I would recommend your settings on the GP to be 760 @ 60 fps. And something else which will make a huge difference is to get a good memory card. The SanDisk Ultra is the best most affordable one on the market. It will mean the difference of you not having corrupted video files when you transfer them from your memory card to your computer.

Downloaded windows and have been playing with it. Had the camera set to 1080 - 30. Am going out today and will try the 720-60.

Thanks
