The window period for Red Bull King of the Air started today and we're lucky enough to have been given the go ahead for this Sunday, 3 February 2013!

This afternoon Ruben Lenten hit the water for a pre-event session just as the Cape Town sun was setting.

well, I asked for it...not sure they can do a livestream due to slow internet in the area.

but, let's hope...the second I will get an info, I will let you know. I am in touch with the organizers.

Capetown is one hour ahead of CET time.

No livestream :-(. But......

Sorry Toby - bandwidth in South Africa would have to problematic for us to take a chance with.

We're looking into the possibility for next year.

amazing - the KSP managed a livestream from a "remote" spot in ireland - you should think that it would be possible from bigbay too...

Great, that was cool last year, glad it's back!.
Too bad no livestream plan.
That said, everybody knows a remote HDTV satellite upllink is expensive for the kitesurfing world,
but then again the Vendee and other yacht races manage to beam hours of video from multiple boats, they should have worked out something like that...

Basically it seems like a decent engineer and two or three of these type of units which tend to upload at 1 MB/s should be able to run a 720p satellite stream at much lower cost.
Somebody tell me if I'm wrong...
