this is what I call style!

Look at 2:15 Ruben...upside down stretched slow rotation with a looping kite...and then a grab...yahooooo!

Best of all!

To clarify a couple of points at the KOTA:
The judging crtiteria was biased 75% on height and 25% on the trick.
You could do a trick only once and be judged on that, if you did the same trick a second time it was not marked.
If you did not land a jump/trick cleanly i.e wiped out, it was not marked.
So the emphasis was definitely on max height plus variety.

The swell at the end of the event had 3-4m breaking waves in middle of the contest area so not sure how Toby would have coped with that ;-)

KL was probably best overall, but on the day he just had a bad semi so was out.

Ruben was never in it, he never realy got going and couldn't get his usual height - local opinion was that he was just not used to his new kite brand.
Sam Light on the other hand on his new brand started slowly in the early rounds but just got better and better.
Perhaps says something about the 2 x brands involved?

There was plenty of professional filming going on so suspect that there wil be a nice Red Bull movie showing up sometime soon ;-)

Overall it was a super spectacular compo and format with the worlds best kiters.

he is so not used to the new kites, that he performs badly even before he use them? ..that said...didn't look bad the clip above tho...

:-?

Super fun video though...I can't wait to see more.

Who here is willing to bed that Jesse also pulls a contract with Red Bull doing this? I mean the guy is made for the Red Bull brand. Awesome.

Doing a trick once?
Exactly how I woud judge it! Way to go for more variety!

World's best kiters? I didn't see one specialized big air rider! More or less world's best wakestyle riders, besides Shawn Richman. Or at least world's best megaloopers.

I would have loved to see Dimitri in this. I am sure he would have kicked several kids butts and delivered the biggest show with many different tricks. He can do it all!

If 2014 again, I want to see those dedicated riders too! Where were the Dom Rep boys? They are a true show!

I hope for him! He earns it and always great if the kids get more money for the risk they take!
And Jesse is a rider who can do it all, including racing and waves!

Good luck Jesse!
