You should consider the Cabrinha Velocity 9m if you are concerned about bar pressure. They are very limited, but you should be able to get one in March if you look around now. Compared to the Crossbow, the Velocity turns faster, uses less of the trim strap to cover a similar wind range, and has much less bar pressure.
How does the bar pressure and turning compare on the 16m? I rented a 16xbow to use for a week to test it out, and I found that more than anything i was most uncomfortable because of the insane bar pressure and force on my lower back. I decided not to purchase it, but would consider a 16 V for light wind if it was comparable to say my 13xbow in pressure...
16 Velocity < 13 Crossbow LW in bar pressure

Anyway... This "Velocity"...
Does it jump ???

(I bring you back to my fist post)
I haven't tested them for jumping, but my educated guess is that the Velocity is better. It turns faster and is easier to handle when it's lit, so this should translate in a better and more controlled "whip" to tear you off the water. The kite is super low drag and very powerful, so I can only suspect better jumping height. Damien will be able to tell us in a couple weeks. I have his Velocity kites here in my office and he will be back in town in a couple weeks to test them head to head.

Hey guys, I saw something VERY interesting in the description of the Velocity...

"Direct bridling with no pulleys in the front lines"

I'm gonna wait for Damien before buying anything. Anyway, we're kiting on snow up here. No water kiting before April...
