this site has been great, but is clearly going through some challenges. Anyone know what's up? Seems to be wonky for the past several months and now is totally offline.

Ya, noticed sometimes I can get on sometimes not.
Probably a virus or a hacker maybe. Let's hope they
get it sorted soon.

Kingston has a local kite group that sells stuff, there's probably a few more local ones
around as well. Kijiji has quite a bit of kite equip on there too.

Guys

I managed http://www.kiteforum.ca

even though it's mostly a french speaking forum by riders from Quebec, we often have bilingual discussions, English speaking riders in QC and sometimes from other provinces

We have currently almost 1300 registered members, probably twice more silent readers (from everywhere in Canada, France,...)

We get more than 6000 different uniques IP hits per month.

The forum is simple, efficient, with a video library and a chat box, and few banners.

I can easily setup up an Ontario, or other provinces sub-forums. Even better I could setup a MAIN page where you choose Ontario/QC/Maritimes/etc... and you have a full forum.

It would probably take very few hours over the weekend to implement this.

However to make a forum SUCCESSFUL, it needs (in the beginning) people to entertain the forum, bring others on the forum and moderate it. And it takes someone from Ontario who knows the local riders, so I cant do this.

But I can provide the support and web site. Then I need someone already implicated on the kitesurf Ontario community to become the mod.

Of course, for this section, we'll have your Ontario shops banners or sponsors.

So far with the site sponsors profit, we all re-invested into marketing stuff like CAR and BOARD STICKERS, t-shirts, etc... I (and my partner) have real jobs for living :o we don't make profit with the site

Since 2010, we have already given to members through draws, 2 kiteboards, 1 kite, 1 snowboard, lots of t-shirts, accessories, etc.. These draws are very fun.

If you think, it is worth it, don't hesitate to contact me on my email at

Hey all,

thechickenloop.com has been having trouble since this time last year when it was hacked and put on google's warning list. I'd been a lurker up until then and finally registered an account last summer, but still await activation. I've asked a few different parties to contact the admin on my behalf (thanks Laughingman and OKA Matt), but I haven't heard anything yet.

Since then, it seems the site needs to be restarted periodically lest database connection problems appear. I finally took it upon myself just now to contact the admin directly and offer some assistance. He's out of the country at present, but hopefully I'll hear from him soon and he'll take me up on the offer.

In the meantime, if any of you are selling a 7m kite, line extensions or board bags at a reasonable price; drop me a line! :D

I'm sure David would love the help. He's reached out before for the site. The sad thing about sites like this is that problems drives people away. It's seen really light use since the first issue.

PM sent about the kite
