Hello,

I would like to ask if North Free Race board is good for beginners? I would like to teach my dad, but he can not plan out of the water with normal twintip.

Thanks,
Zan

That's a directional board and for me those are harder to ride. I could not have learned to kitesurf very easy on a directional...and factor in you have to eventually turn and go back the other way  you either go toeside or switch your feet... both difficult for a beginner IMO. TT is by far the easier tool for a beginner.

I dont agree.

I find directionals easier to ride - also what we all learned kitesurfing on back then.

Of course - changing direction is way more difficult - but does it really matter ?

One just fall backwards in the water and turn the board.

I've teached many on directionals - and they have found it easier to go because they can ride "naturally" instead of bending the rear leg a lot :naughty:

You will actually "ride" without effort straight away - whereas many will skip and slide sideways on a TT the first many times.

A freerace board with small fins might work fine :thumb:

Not sure about a freerace board, but a surfboard is easier than a TT IMO - so if for a bigger guy, a freerace might work awesome

Agree - the Nugget will be way easier and work awesome in light wind or for heavier riders :thumb:

yes freerace works good and nugget as well for beginners. with the freerace i put smaller fins in. some people find nugget hard as your foot is so far inboard in the strap where as the freerace is double front straps. used both in the school last year a few times
