Zian - Kite Designer?

Who is the designer behind Zian Kites?

Is it Momi (same who does Blade and EPIC)?

The kites look (and fly apparently) rather similar like the Momi designed kites (this is a compliment, of course ;) )

Insights, anybody?

Hello mede,
Momi designs only for EPIC and BLADE. :thumb:
Never heard ZIAN kites before until 2 weeks ago and I wish them all the best. But I heard the name KIMA before

Hi Mede:

See my reply from: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2379148&start=0 I will repeat most of it add a bit to it :D

A short introduction; my name is Robert and I am the founder / owner of Zian kiteboarding.

The last 5 years I did work as a director of Global Sport Lanka (http://www.gslanka.lk/) and decided that it is time for a change, 8) but wanted to stay in the kite business as I do see great possibilities here.
I have had the lucky opportunity to be in one of the "hot spots" of “kite production and design” in this world and have greatly been involved myself in setting new quality and production standards for kites and also windsurf-sails. I have been working with quite a few "big" people in the business around the globe. My roots are Dutch (so do forgive me some spelling and grammar mistakes), but as every good Dutchman

The Zian main office is based in the beautiful country of Austria, and the other Zian office is run by Patrick in the US (ridezian.com), Graig is taking care of Australia and Matthew of South Africa.

We tried to give out Kites some meaning full names: Wave and Eagle, try jumping with an Aquila ;) The next C-Kite will be something like Dragon-Wing or so. The name Zian was derived from the Chinese “Xian” translatable as “wizard; magician; shaman" (in Chinese mythology) or "genie; elf, fairy; nymph" (and a lot more).

Our kite design is not based on any other kite or brand, nor copied or anything. It is based on quite a few "generation" development and thorough knowledge of Kites and Kiting.

Thanks for the asking, feel free to ask more,
Robert
