Yes. On the 2013, anyway. (right behind the rear pad)

WOW! This thing is great!

I finally got a chance to try the board out, but only if flat water in the sound in OBX. Goes upwind like crazy.

In the morning it was a gusty 12-14 knots on my 11m Rebel and was going upwind no problem. Others were staying upwind with 14m kites and twintips. My buddy who is about the same size as me (165 lbs) was on a twintip and 11m and said he had to struggle to stay upwind through the lulls.

Only downside I see is that the fins are super cheap. I sunk a bit during a tack in lighter wind, just barely hit the bottom and one of the rear fins completely snapped off at the base! Board rides pretty well with 3 fins though :thumb: Luckily better FCS fins are cheap.

Later in the day it picked up to about 18 knots so I went out on my 11m Rebel and smaller twintip. At the end of the day I decided to give the (now 3 finned) SP another try, but thought it would be awkward to ride such a big board when I was getting powered on my 11m. This board was a blast in powered conditions! It just flies up wind with great speed. I was able to ride upwind from kitty hawk kites in Rodanthe up to the Real slick in only about 20 minutes of riding (1.5 miles straightline distance. Wind was at 45 degrees to the land, side onshore.

Can't wait to try it in waves.

Don't know what conversion from CDN to US$ is these days, or how much shipping is.
On the site they listed two options for shipping $15 or $25, I opted for the $25 but then when they filled the order they called me up and said shipping would be $65, no other option.

Total price with shipping and tax came to $411 CDN, but I don't think you'd be charged tax if you ship to the US. Also there should be no duty charged as it's made in the US (I think).

Sorry about the confusion about the shipping cost. All the shipping is typically based on weight and that boards shipping costs are incorrectly listed on our site. Thanks again for purchasing the board from us. If you need anything,do not hesitate to call us.

Got one of the SPs from silentsports.com. GREAT PRICE to begin with, and I was also accidentally quoted an improper shipping cost (quoted $40 when it was actually $50). They called me back a few minutes later and said they'd honor the quoted price. Great way to run a business. Dave and Silent Sports just earned repeat business.

Good job guys! :thumb:

Any suggestions for fins to replace the stock fins?

I considered those little "knubster" fins that fit in a single FCS slot. I thought they would give decent tracking by providing rear fins, but easy to break loosed when you wanted. I'm not sure if they will work though because the FCS boxes (on my 2012 SP) are not the usual 2-slot design I have seen before. They are 1 long slot. Still fits the standard 2-tab FCS fins, but not sure if the single tab knubster will stay in.

Looks like they made a Kite specific version after all!

Price increased a bit, but you get the WVS bamboo construction and inserts. Cool...

Had a good day on my 5' 4".
Lots of room on this board to move around, so an easy board to learn to gybe compared to a more traditional surf shape/volume, but also easy to bring around because it's short.
A lot of volume for the length, so it goes out with not much kite power needed.
I like it with four fins on it, it points upwind very easily, but will try it with just the fronts next time out.
The double concave allows you to hold good power when the wind is up.
Good alternative to a skim for fun.
Slower than a normal shaped surfboard (my SS Coupe).
