For reference here, the wind was blowing about 17-18 mph, I was on a Mako 140, and my fat ass weighs 230 lbs (105 kg for you folks on the other side of the pond). What a great time!!

The Flite looks like it flags out to both front lines.
I've been very happy with my Cab Crossbows because the IDS makes it very easy to drift launch and pack down the kite.

Does the Flite flag out as well as the Crossbow did on IDS?
Yes, it flags just like the IDS system.
Well the IDS system works properly on some of the Cabrinha kites and not others.
This is the only video of the Ocean Rodeo Direct Depower in action that I could find and it doesn't impress me. What it needs to do to work properly is for the kite to be able to drop downwind and fall on it's back every time without you having to walk towards it or swim towards it.
Maybe the OR system does that on the Flite 17m. If it does, I'd like to see it in action?

With Cabrinha having withdrawn its Crossbow and Switchblade IDS kites, which actually worked very well at flagging to two front lines, I'd like to be able to recommend the Flite 17m, but I need to know if the safety works.
By works, I mean, at the top end of its windrange, if you pop the Q/R with the kite overhead in deep water, does the Flite drop onto its back like on a fifth line or does it land leading edge down, still pulling hard?

With all that i have stated, the kite is exceptional in the air. A real joy to fly.

Thanks for answering my question Do-it. I think its important to know if the safety system flags the kite out properly.
