Mainly it's easier because you break it free and slide it around as easily as a twin tip.
But also, it's easier because when it bogs down a bit, it just slowly sinks and keeps rotating -no big fins to catch and trip you, and most importantly, no volume to cork up to the surface and disturb your balance, which is likely a little off already if you are bogging down.

Well I dunno about the Shinnster, but if it is like a Paipo then no worries. Works much like a surfboard in that respect.
My understanding is they are more or less the same board. Shinnster designed by Greg at BRM and it has the BRM logo on it. Shinnster brings more recognized brand recognition and bigger market potential.
I look forward to trying one or the other sometime soon.

That is correct. I've not ridden a Shinnster, but have compared it side by side to a Paipo. The shape of the two is pretty much identical, with the Shinnster being a tiny bit heavier.

Having put a Launch Pad on my Shinnster I decided to take it to the lake this summer (wax is too messy on the boat).
I was impressed by how well it rode behind the boat. Especially for riders under 160 lbs.
A real longboard style wakesurfer. I kept pearling when trying to carve up for aerials so it's not great for slashing but it spins well and has a smooth ride on the wake.
We had one rider at 210 lbs who struggled on it though so it might not be suited for heavier riders.
