Can you take a picture of the opening on the male end clicker bar? I think I know whats going on and have a simple solution for you.

We ran into a similar situation with a clicker bar in the past.

Feel free to e-mail me @ LTDKite@gmail.com

To the OP: Post some pics of your clicker bar, maybe something is noticeable. LTD was a big help with another issue I had, maybe he can help you.

To LTD: Ok if you want to be 2/2, here is pic of my three Mystic 3.0 Clicker Bars. The Warranty Replacement came undone once (since Sept) and the Original came undone about 6 times from April through September. No sand or particles. The New only has one brief usage and is still relatively untested. I included it so you could see a "clean" clicker next to the older ones.

Periodically pressing the top of the screw (covered by that black fabric) that holds the locking pin in place while kitesurfing keeps it working, you can hear it/feel it click back into place. I do wash them (the original is dirty as its been sitting in my gear bag that goes to the beach and gets sand in it; I didnt wash it last session as its not being used atm). I keep my harnesses clicked in when being stored and wash after each session. I dont wash before each session.

I personally have started to believe it may be more related to how I have the spreader down strap - it has tension on it and it presses up just underneath the bottom release button. I am thinking maybe run the spreader down strap through the clicker strap (on the male end) so it stays over the locking screw instead of pressing up under the release button. From Nov through March (20 sessions) I rarely used the spreader down strap as I didnt understand at that time how to use it properly/its function. It never came un-clicked during that time.

So annoying, none of my friends with Clicker bars have this problem and I know alot of people with Mystic harnesses. But even the warranty replacement started having the same issue. My friends treat their gear like crap compared to me and make fun of me for spending so much time brushing/washing off sand, particles, mud, etc, yet I am the one who suffers. :-?

Thanks for your replies - glad I'm not the only one with issues.
It appears its not the clickerbar 3 I have - it must be the next one - which has the keep down bit integrated into the main clicker bit - so when it pops open, there's nothing at all to keep it in place. I think its referred to as the 'spreader bar down system'.

I will take some pix in the morning - hopefully theres an easy solution.

Cheers

I had the same drama on my mystic. Would always pop open, especially when loaded some more, such as landing a trick. Luckily I have the spreader hold down strap which saved losing everything so many times.

I had the male part replaced under warranty and it fixed the problem completely.

Must be micro differences between the two male parts because I cant really tell any difference between the new and the old.. but suppose just enough for the part to remain clicked in.

Righty - heres my pix:

Any comments most welcome, as it's driving me chuffing BANANAS!! It feels like it can't be pushed in far enough, because of that webbing bit, and the metal hoop holding the webbing - but I could be mistaken.

Actually yours looks like the problem they had me attempt to solve.

Take pliers, grip the metal ring that the strap for the male end goes through, bend it slightly backwards away from the connection point. Do this gently. It is interfering with the connection.

They had alot of problems with this apparently but the solution is pretty easy.

He is correct although bizarrely enough it says 3.0 on my spreader bar and my harness is a 2014 model. Weird naming conventions.

I would not trust a harness with a Clicker bar without a secondary system, that separate down strap has saved me multiple times.

Same here dude, on my warrior 3 - it does seem a shame to have ditched it when it worked fine to keep the hook down AND acted as a safety backup.

I'll get the pliers out tonight and let you know if it improves. Fingers crossed.

I had the same issues with my Warrior. I replaced the Spreader Bar with my old Pyro Bar. A very low tech system that works well with cold fingers or covered in Sand.
I cant understand why harness companies go for these hightech fancy looking systems.
