kitesize dilemma

just want your opinions...
weight 80kg dry
boards Airush cypher 27l. "lightwindboard" strapless
Airush compact 5'6 highwindboard strapped

wanna buy a set of Ozone Reo's. windrange 13knots till approx 35knts
should l buy 9/7/5. or 10/8/6

my gear at the moment are kites with a great low end but half slower and more than double barpressure against the Reo, my old hands cannot stand it anymore....
my set is 11m 9/7/5...
numbers l give are with no depower pulled and on 23m lines if l setup on 20m lines they go further (20m lines only used on the 7/5m)
my old kites range:
9m 13/14 knts till 18/19 knts
7m 18/19 till 25/27knts
5m 26/27 knts till ......in the 30.----..knts

l might be keeping the 11m for the lightwind sessions....

I have no idea about the Reo sizing in real world kiting , yes you can read at the website...but they seem to overlap a lot so it is a bit comfusing.

any idea/ help on this matter is appreciated

12,10,8,6 for a 4 kite quiver.
12,9,6 for a 3 kite.

That's what the dedicated wave guys ride round here.

Personally I think 9,6 gap is too big.

I see it quite often around here. the 12, 9, 6 guys quite often have a dilemma in the mid 20's too powered for the 9 to ride waves nicely or constantly grovel upwind on the 6m.

Guess what 8m or 7m is sweet on those days.

Your 12,9 7 5 quiver will be am awesome spread.

Having more kites to choose from means you can get more enjoyable sessions more often. Your not fly kites a there extremes. Also once the initial purchase is done the kites will last longer because you use each one less....

Its a good job you are getting the 12m in your set up. Its a sweet kite in the breezes.

But i have a question regarding the 2015 Reos. I have the 12m 2015 reo and a 2013 10m, 8m, and 6m. it works great.

However I want to replace my 2013 kites. Shall i downsize them all one size (to 9m, 7m, 5m) or are the ranges the same between 2015 and 2013. I know the 2014 9m was equivalent to a 2013 10m but not sure about the 2015.

9-6 has been tried by some waveriders here, and they utterly regret this, as it is waaaay too much spread, especially in this "normal" and sweet range where wavesurfing is at its best, namely the 6-7-8m2 range

Some even has a 5-6-7-9-Something big or not because the gap from 5 to 7 is sometimes a bit big, although this is a luxury thing agree - but as Plummet says, you will wear the kites less, especially the 7 will hold longer, if you have a 6 to take over now and then but not sufficient for the smaller 5.

Totally depends on person and conditions but if you've only got the readies for 2 kites go with a reasonable split. I've found 11 / 8 has worked with a couple of kite types now. The 11 works nice up to mid 20's mph and can still hold it down in gusts to 30. The 8 starts to work at about 20 mph and then can be ridden pretty much to the max of what I'm prepared to kite in. Some folks like 12/9...others 10/7. 7 and smaller is a storm kite for me...but I do weight 100kg. If you've got money for more kites....buy em all...
