Core Sensor 2 bar + non-Core kite?

Postby Balloonboy » Mon Sep 07, 2015 4:06 am

Who has used this bar with other than a Core kite?

I have Epic Surf kites which I really like but the Epic bar is lacking IMHO. I have never been a fan of the the above the bar dual power straps. They either twist in each other or hang under the center lines. The new QR is better than the older model but the bar just has not evolved enough along with the kites, which are terrific.

Core bar looks well engineered plus comes with 18m lines with 4m extensions. The Epics like 18m lines and 22m lines ( I have a 2 bars- one with 18 and the other with 22s).

I use the core bar with the Cabrinha Velocity. Works fine. Core Sensor is a high Y set up. The center lines have knots and the stearling lines have the larks head. The Sensor 2 and Pro have 18,4,2m lines. Personally i love the way the swivle works and its pretty perfect for wave riding. Thats what made me look at core in the first place.

Thx for the feedback. Unibar is also one I'm looking at.
Why did you choose the Sensor?

I used mine with 2010 rrd obsession and 2012 Slingshot rally 8m, no problems. Used with Switch kites, generation 1, those kites had some quirks that Mr Hansen said may be due to high Y.

Only the Sensor2+ comes with 18m line set plus 2m and 4m extension sets so you can rig either 18-20-22-24m lines. The Sensor2 and the Pro bars comes standard with 24m lines.

I use the sensor because i mostly fly Core kites. But i went to core because of the bar...or that was one reason. I think the overall design and swivle is one of the best on a the market. http://youtu.be/ePv8rXE7okU

Going with a Blade Unibar. I think they are well engineerd plus the kite Blade kits are designed by Momi- same as Epic. That could be irrelevant but it can't hurt, plus I think my next kite is the Skinny Boy wave kite.
