I saw this playing on the business class emirates bus in Dubai a couple months ago. I hope to kite Dubai on one of my stopovers.

I lived in Dubai for 5yrs. Learned to kite there.
Its probably the light-wind capital of the world

its def not a kitesurfing destination, but if you manage to ride (i used to ride 99% 17m Zephyr) then you can have some amazing sessions! Really nice beaches, good crowd, authorities are kite-friendly (at least used to be when I was there).
I wouldn't go there as a kite-destination though.
