Don´t ban kitesurfing in Germany !

Postby tilmann » Sun Oct 11, 2015 7:47 am

The office of the German nationalpark has asked the minister for traffic to change the law: No kitesurfing shall be allowed anymore in the whole German national park (see pic !)

Image

Kitesurfing is part of the culture of sailing which is thousands of years old. It has made history already, has world championchips and is in the olympic games 2017. This sport has fans all over the world, but it´s existence is more and more in danger because of prohibition. A ban destroyes a part of the sailing world, the pinnacle of it´s development. Many people would loose their jobs and the sense of their lives.
Stop this and vote against!

just fill in your name and e-mail-adress in the right corner above and push the red button: "Unterzeichnen" (= "sign")
Then you get an e-mail, where you have to click on the link to confirm.

Why is it important?

The Wadden Sea National Park Administrations have ask the German Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure to change the current Act on the Use of Federal Waterways in National Parks of the North Sea.

The change will lead to a general ban on kitesurfing in the 345.000 hectare large National Park.

Experiences with similar regulations in the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea Act have shown: The possibilities for kite surfers to use the sea is almost completely lost. As for the Act in Lower Saxony only 0,38% of the Wadden Sea area were zoned for kitesurfing and every year the area is reduced by further bans of the National Park Administration.

According to the National Park administration, more bans are planned for the Baltic Sea area.

With this general ban the sport of kitesurfing will be severely hurt. A sport with countless active athletes around the globe, a world series, european and national championships and the chance of becoming an olympic sport by 2017, and thus, being an excitement for countless people.

Furthermore, through the ban on kitesurfing on the German North Sea Coast many jobs in tourism and the kitesurfing industry will be endangered.

Hence, our petition to the German Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure:

No adoption of regulation concerning kite sports in the North Sea Wadden Sea area.

In support of our petition to save the Kite Sport at our coasts we petition the Minister:
Save the kite spots!
No general ban on exercising the Kite Sport in the German Wadden Sea.

Handing in this petition several Kite Clubs joint together in order to to mutually support the sport.

I signed it yesterday after reading it on Armin Harich's FB page.

We have similar problems here in the US. Kitesurfing is banned along the whole of the Cape Cod National Seashore to protect the endangered sea birds. I'm all for protecting wildlife, but there are not many kiters. To top it off, people are allowed to drive their trucks, RV's and other vehicles all along the whole beach! Doesn't make any sense.

Maybe they want to build refugee homes on the North Sea Coast. I have a better idea: since Germany is feeding half of North Africa and the Middle East, maybe we can petition for a piece of the refugees' original coastline where we can rebuild SPO, Sylt and Fehmarn. It's warmer and we don't have to go kiting dressed like astronauts. They can have our kitespots for refugee homes and we go south, no passports, no residence permits, our land. Everybody wins!

Wtf is it with those green tree hugging hippy's. Just let someone enjoy something, we got plenty of seagulls as it is and birds get used to kites after seeing them a few times. Fucking green hippys

Pretty sad....

Too many people spend too much time worrying about shit that doesn't affect them directly at all.

Just because something is different, it must be bad and stopped.

Good luck Germany, I hope that park warden gets fired instead. Parks are supposed to be for enjoyment.
