OK performance... if you are into racing, you prolly take the thinnest line set you can find and swap it every race.

Q is only a rock solid line, for ages, still going strong. I'm sure there are other good ones. Before I try, I have to wreck my Q first, which will take another couple hundred sessions.

300/200kg, snapped line under shock load ends races and it takes time to get back and grab a new kite, thinnest is not the best.
Many top riders even using 500kg fronts to avoid shock load snapping

Interesting. Are there shock loads specific to racing gear or racing?

I have heard a lot of guys new to foil kites breaking spliced line ends. Spliced line ends are not meant to come off and on regularly. Foil kites work much better if you leave the bar connected. If you must disconnect every time, use pigtails for the lines and kite.

This was a good discussion, thanks to all of you who participated as I feel I learned from it. Months later I find myself assembling my own bar/lines and the info and perspectives presented here were useful.

Hello All,

I am searching a way to buy 0.8mm SK99 lines (like FS rear lines of the sonic) ; I tried JymmyGreen but they do not supply less than 1.6 mm; any supplier you know, preferably in Europe ?

thanks

Had a sample of sk99 Liros DC161/DC pro that should be 160kg but could not get it above 130kg when spliced due to the fact it was a 8-strand line. DSM doesn't sypply the same thin yarns as the older SK-75 yet so the only way to get a thinner line than 1,1mm is to make it a 8-strand line and sadly that doesn't hold up to 12-strand versions when spliced.

On the 1.1mm 12-strand SK99 line i get around 300kg breaking strength when spliced so i didn't bother to take the 0.8mm one on stock as the difference in thickness i measure myself was too little too loose more than 50% breaking strength.

300kg SK99 line i have on stock: http://www.en.infexion.nl/shop/accessor ... per-meter/

Thumbs up for Premium in Holland.

Ordered SK99 1mm and 1.6 mm and had them delivered in Denmark a few days after. No problems there....

Did they change the production of the Premiumropes kitelines? The samples i got had a really flat crossection, more like 1x3mm for the 1,6mm line.
