Show some respect Dylan. Cab Rider has over a dozen years invested in quality of kiting for the community, preservation of access, benefiting all kiters including yourself in South Florida and beyond. He is a solid guy with a lot on his plate with little time for forums but he tries to provide input at times when he can.
I have very little time on the 2017 Contra, two sessions, one with the 19 in lighter winds and with a 14 m in the Keys in moderate winds. Both sessions went very well but I wasn't in wind extremes.
Regarding the 2015 17 m Contra, I have a ton of time on that in light to wind 20 kts in gusts (more than once). It is an EXCELLENT performing stable kite in wide wind conditions speaking from long personal experience. It was my go to kite for a good portion of the last two years. Of course I am used to riding with larger kites having a need to return to where I have come from in roundwinders. Kites are adjusted each year, regarding 2017, I would listen to what Cab Rider has to say.
