I too have a 12m LF Solo Gen 1 and while it's not the greatest kite in the world I don't find it sits that far back in the window and that it handles quite well when overpowered.

I'm 75 kg (165 lbs) and can ride in 12-25 knots with a finless skim, but it's a wild ride at 25. On my foil board I can foil in 8 knots with it.

My main gripes with it are:
- tip flutter while looping, this just isn't a good kite for looping
- too much bar pressure when foiling (but pressure is fine on planing hulls)

The best part of this kite is the stability it has when oversheeted. It's pretty much the perfect kite for riding a finless skim because of that. Also perfect for beginners.

It can handle lulls well, but not as well as the BRM Cloud C2. Still better than any 3 strut kite I've tried.

I find that you can make it fly forward in the window if you dig your edge in and sheet out with some speed.

I have a 17m Cloud C2, and it sits so much deeper in the window than the Solo.
I have several Blade Triggers and they fly more forward than the Solo.
I have a 5m Gen 1 Prodigy and it sits deeper than the Solo.
I've flow Naish Rides and they sit about the same as the Solo.

Quick question, at what point in the bar travel do you get fluttering. I just used my 6.5m solo and the whole kite flutters when the bar is only half way out. Is this normal ?

thanks.
