Hi,
I want to go to Ilha do Guajiru, state Ceara, Brazil and I spend there around 1 week then move to Jericocoara.
Have anyone of you been there and can u say your impression about that place ?
What I see on pics and google maps, the huge lagoon there looks amazing. But Im also curious about opinion of people who have been there already

There are two types of opinions:
One love it the other hate it.
I have been several times and I love it.
Relaxed atmosphere, living right next to the water.
Stronger winds than in Cumbuco or Paracuru.
Some nice areas to play like the Secret Spot and the river mouth.
Let's see if you love it or hate it

hi, the lagoon is nice, defects hard to sail in low tide, many people sometimes and a little gusty. But very nice in high and mid tides. but you can take a car and go about 12 km east to the beach of Almofala and there beautiful mouth river( Aracati) where in low and mid tide you have sand islands for perfect smooth sailing( dark waters though). Then you can donwind in chop and some waves( clear waters) , also there is a channel paralel to thee beach for flat water and reenter Guajiru through the mangrove channel( gusty) in mid to high tide.Marvellous scenery, if you plan the downwind you will have flat, choppy and waves and it is very beautifull, totally empty beach. Good accomodations in Ilha do Guajiru, just a small pousada at Almofala.

Hello Toby,
I am in Cumbucu now, and will be in Ceará until beginning of September. Are you around? I would like to see you doing some of your airstyle tricks
Cheers

Xoen: will arrive mid of September. Too bad
I don't think there is a bus from Paracuru. But maybe one leaves from Paracuru to Itarema, which is the town in front of Ilha. Ask your guesthouse where you stay for more info or let them organize a transfer.

there are several...best to check the web for it.
e.g. Pura Vida, 7 BFT. Most are right at the water...some have second row.
