I just became a “me too” on this topic. According the to web site the app is free. What about the data? Does it require in-app purchases and that kind of garbage or is it really free.

Its free and no inapp purchase required and they just added leaderboards. they have some bugs that need fixing, but its better than a woo since it gives your speed and map and other stuff.

What does the Xensr app for the AppleWatch cost?

Very interested to hear about user experiences!!
haha, i just replied to another message on the next page. Dude, its free. FREE! :jump:

Ive only used mine twice and its awesome. never knew i rode that many miles but with the speeds and time it makes sense. Super rad to get all this stats. They need to put in more data like wind weather and notes since i can't remember what i was riding last week. :D

The resellers of apple watch 2 and 3 here in Sweden clearly state the product is not waterproof enough for watersports like surfing etc.
I suppose the solution is to get the extra solution and go for it.

There are dive cases available for the Apple watch with all functionality preserved. Those should solve the water/speed issue

Have those resellers SEEN the Ads for the Watch2 and watch3 which FEATURE surfing?! For reals people. Apple promotes surfing in their ads.

Here is a cut and paste from Apple's official website.

"Apple Watch Series 3 has a water resistance rating of 50 meters under ISO standard 22810:2010. This means that it may be used for shallow-water activities like swimming in a pool or ocean. However, Apple Watch Series 3 should not be used for scuba diving, waterskiing, or other activities involving high-velocity water or submersion below shallow depth."

I think it's pretty clear that this includes kitesurfing, as it's very similar to water skiing.

In the US, Apple runs TV commercials showing a guy surfing inside a barrel with the watch.

Look at the quote. They are clearly stating the watch is not recommended in that situation.
Go for it. If it gets water in it, call apple and try to get them to honor the guarantee.
