Merry x mas everybody!
Anybody ever glued the female valve of the naish octopussy strut?
It is welded from the inside which is impossible to glue back on.
I'm thinking to glue it on the outside but it will be hard to pressure it and let it dry.
Or i "just" have to buy new struts at airtime for $60 per piece.

Hey, posty. Would it be possible to remove the strut bladder from the kite, cut off the end of the strut bladder at the tip (opposite end from the valve), turn the strut bladder inside-out, and then re-glue the valve? You can then re-seal the cut end with a heat-sealer or iron.
(Trying to be helpful here......and I'm trying to refrain from spouting off about how much I dislike the octopus system...

lots of info on the web - google it.
You can cut off the bladder around the valve, glue the valve on (use Aquaseal), then reglue the cut piece back in (or use Tear-Aid to put the piece back on). If done well it will be good as new.
Or you can pull off the valve, using tweezers put a large piece of cling film inside the bladder (to avoid the glue sticking together the inside of the bladder, then put the valve back in and add glue. The cling film will be stuck to the inside of the bladder but it won't matter.

i know, the octopus system is not invented with repairing the kite in mind.
i'm glad it's not my kite.

Sigh. Not really. This is a fairly easy comparison to how much time you spend on different systems multiplied with the probability of problems. The external systems are impacted by the sun and other external factors and you have to keep a watch over hoses. It's not a major problem to change it, but it is another factor. Inserting the bladders isn;t really that different...on the Naish it takes 1 minute extra but it is easier to situate the bladder properly.
