...Because my next kite down is a 9m Rally I'm still interested in the top ends of Rally 12m vs Turbine 13m, and of course I'm also still interested in comparing the low end of the Rally 12m vs Turbine 13m. And as said above, not from dealers/sponsored riders etc. please.
I can't comment on the Turbine 13M yet, but as you seem to be interested on the 12M Rally, I've had one for a number of years and can give you feedback. (maybe I already have?)

Note, I fly my 12M with the 23"x27M bar. So the line length may give me a mph better than folks on the 20" bar.

At 185 lbs, I can fly the 12M at 10mph, but can't hold wind on a twin tip until 12mph. The kite doesn't start to get fun until around 14mph on a twin tip, but it's fun at 12mph with a big directional. I've had some enjoyable light wind ocean downwinders on it with a big surf board or my wakesurfer. Sessions where other folks are standing on the beach wondering how I'm kiting. From experience, though, I pretty much don't bother launching until I see a 12mph sustained on a handheld meter.
Captain - What are your local conditions? I have a 17m Turbine, 14m&12M Rally's. I am the same weight as you and can't go on the Turbine till it hits 12mph. And that's with a big TT. We have surf and rips. The 12m doesn't come out till the wind is hitting 18mph

A little bit of everything. Depends where I'm riding. Naturally in "surf and rips" I need more power to counteract waves and currents. However, in most cases when the wind is light the ocean is also, and I can still go out on a big surfboard and have fun in 12 mph on my 12M. As stated, I do use the 23"x27M bar. That probably makes it feel like a 13M kite. It'll pull me in 10-12 but I won't hold ground.

Now, I've been stubburn about that because I just don't want a lightwind kite (one more to carry) and around me light wind is usually not steady. Light wind is usually going between 0 and 10... however, when I do find very steady 10-14mph days and I've gotten to fly a friends 15M Turbine, I had more fun.

Foiling has changed all these rules and kite sizes. I don't foil yet, but when a bug farts the guys are out proving all my prior kite arguments wrong. :)

12mph is reliable on my 12M, though. I don't bother rigging until I see sustained 12 and then I can go out on a big board, wakesurfer or skim in calm water and have a nice time. No jumping until 14 or so, though.

A little off subject, but i have a question for Ripper tom. I am a new kiter. So far, i can ride both sides, upwind, downwind, transitions both sides. My actual quiver is a Turbine 2014 17m, an Ozone Edge 9m 2011 and a deceased Edge 13. I am planning a new kite for this summer. I am a cruising rider, no jump, not agressive. I am thinking about a Turbine 11 , 2017 or a rally 12, 2016. to replace my Edge 13. What do you suggest me to complete my Quiver. What kite and what bar. I am 5' 10" and weight 170 lbs. And i am 63 years old, but in great shape 😎😎😎😎
Yes, 11m Turbine is so much better than 12m Rally, same or more lowend than 12m Rally (both with 23m lines).
23m line is for 11m Turbine ok (really fast turning) but for massive lowend or big air take 27m line.
11m Turbine works with 27m really good.

Flew the Rally 12m with 27.5m lines yesterday. Have to admit that I was surprised how well it flew - at a guess I'd say it was worth 2 maybe 3 knots. Turning was interesting though, delayed action technique required!

Which bar did you use?
When I fly my 12M with the 23"x27M bar, it turns faster and has a bit more low end than when I fly it with the 20"x23M bar.
It's not a huge difference, but definitely noticeable. As noted earlier, the 23x27 is all I fly the 12M with, except when I'm traveling and then I just take the single 20" bar and share it between kites.

Was using an Airush Smartbar converted to a Slingshot Compstick Sentinel type bar as detailed below but pics have gone, sorry. Bar is 62cm (about 24-1/2 inches). Kite turned slowwwwly!
