North Trust Trim Line

Postby atomic-chomik » Thu Jan 12, 2017 6:58 am

Im looking to replace the trim line(s) for my north trust bars. No store here for stock replacements but plenty of marine stores. Anyone use straight amsteel or dyneema to replace that line.If so what size?
Thanx

I replaced mine with 4mm amsteel that I got from west marine. Measured that I needed a little under 9 ft so I bought 10 ft, I think it came to about $13. Gave up trying to sink the tails when splicing it since I don't have any tools. If you're going to try to do it properly, I'd suggest getting a fid unless there's some magical way to do it without it that I'm not aware of. I think the right size fid is another $7 or so, which means it's not really any cheaper than just buying it from north for $25.

Thanks Dylan, I actually have a fid set so thats will work. Being that I am up in Canada on an Island, there are no place stop buy that and the exchange is a killer, over 50 bucks. Too much when i can do it for 13 or whatever. I have a couple to do so now i can do both.
