Hi
*** Question: Should I go for 7 + 9 + 12 or 7 + 10 + 13?
I'm planning to "invest" in 2017 Vegas as a progress from my 2015(!) Dices.
I'm 78-80 kg, riding in boots mostly on a pretty heavy Tona Pop 142cm...
My home spot is choppy with most winds within 14-20 kts range (well actually 13-15 happens more often that I would like...), but I spend significant part of the year on spots with 20-35 kts range, so I need that covered as well.
When I was switching from Evo to 2015(!) Dices I went from 7+9+12 to 7+10+13 as I expected much worse low-end. On one hand the 13 saved me some sessions (still it really lacked on lower end some times) and this extended size range for Dices covered wind conditions pretty well, but I really thought that 10m and 13m are a little bit too slow for my taste... Plus very often I really felt that 2015' Dice really lack power when unhooked and I hope to fix that by switching to 2017 Vegas.
I really always considered 9m as the sweet spot size, but never had Vegas so far... I really prefer fast and responsive kites, so I'm torn now.
From North's charts:
1. 2017 12m Vegas range is 13-24 kts, the same they claimed for 12m Dice 2015 (12-26).
2. 2017 13m Vegas range is 12-21 kts, the 2015' 13m Dice range was 12-24.
So it looks like it's only logical to go for 7 + 10 + 13, as it looks like 2017 Vegases have THEORETICALLY the same ranges as 2015' Dices...
Is the Vegas 12m low end range of 13 kts valid? I guess for 70 kgs guy it is... for me "not necessary".
What do you think guys???

Based on some feedback it looks like 8 + 10 + 13 would be the best option for me to cover the 14-35 range... Just hoping that 8 will hold the 35-40 kts range as well for a 80kg guy.

I have 2016 12, 9, 7 at 77kg. Almost never use the 7 though, needs a lot of wind to be fun. My next quiver will be 12, 9, 8.
Range of the Vegas is amazing. I am sure an 8 will cover me up to 35knts easy.

if i was riding a wakestyle board primarily id probably go 14/10/8 or something to get the most wind range. i dont think youd want to ride a 12 in 13 knots with a board with proper rocker, esp on a kite like the dice which doesn't have much grunt

If you intend to progress you won't take the 7 out in that range. 35 knots Is perfect for a 9m C kite or maybe 8m, I guess it depends if it's choppy or not.
I wouldn't go with 10m personally because I would rather to aggressive kiteloop with 9m than 10m but that S only if you plan on working on Megaloop.
As far as 12 or 13 that's personal choice, the extra low end can be extended with less rocker board. I would do 12m and perhaps a Non C kite 14 with good low end.

might be good idea selling the 7m I have never used and get an 8. I have been keeping the 7 for future plan to surf and foil...

I need at least 15-16kn to have some fun on my 13m Best GP, I expect the vegas to have similar windrange, might have a tad more low-end but not much in it. I wouldn't go for a 12 c kite as your biggest kite if you have 13-15kn often.

I'd be super overpowered on a 9m in 35 knots so always take wind ranges with a grain of salt... 35 would be a very powered 7m session for most people.

Exactly why I want to keep the 9 in there. Did not try a 10 but would be worried it would be a tad slow for powered kiteloops. 9 and 8 are magic sizes which are awesome for freestyle and kiteloops but still great for unhooked. 7 is a bit too fast for my liking.

Thanks guys for your input.
Order made. I need to compromise on 8+10+13 due to my expected spot conditions. I just hope that 10m in the Hadlow Setup would be "loopable enough" in these moments I decide to go for it. If not, I will try replacing a bigger stick on the tiny wake bar
