Adrenalina here, I spend winters on my 44 cat in bahamas, caribbean often kiting off isolated reefs and islets. Am 63yo thought I'd share some
must have skills. Which Include self launch/ land and a rescue plan!!!! I have a hi powered rib with epirb, strobe, etc w my husband ready to help. Ability to prep kite onshore for deployment off rib in deep water. Also have personal epirb, dye, strobe, all of which are in case of engine failure, often have no idea of currents and need to guess kite size. My north rebel is my kite of choice, 8to13 range, will soon be foiling a cabrinha. Currently in St Martin.

Very impressive!!!
You enjoy life, that is awesome! Happy for you!!!
If you have a rescue boat on hand that can help you in offshore winds then its fine. Otherwise not recommended! Everything can happen and happens.
Rather be safe than sorry!
Keep posting those stunning pictures!

Your topic title sounded like a terrible idea, but then reading your post, you obviously have a sweet setup and great contingency plans. Not sure that having someone on standby with a boat counts as kiting alone, but it is very cool to hear about somebody living the dream.
Adrenalina is a very interesting name. That would have been even cooler than Sailorgirlz for a logon name. I look forward to seeing more about your awesome kiting setup. Would love to see some video of your boat launching methods from the rib.

Awesome!
Don't bother with the Cab foil, it's utter pants and you won't get a proper foiling experience.

I need to get an epirb. What is Dye? does that color the water?
PS if you have someone with a boat watching you, you are not alone.
PSS rebel is a terrible foil kite. Its too heavy. Get a 3 strut or less kite for foiling. Something that relaunches in better in light winds would be safer for offshore kiting,

We have a local off shore wind spot. A lot of folks will not go there because of it which is fine with me. We have a 5 mile long dike that stretches into our bay. The best part about it's a 2 mile down-winder to the local spot that is side-side on shore. Off shore is fine depending on the spot and other conditions. All so know that you have to have a plan in case things go south on ya and not panic when they do.

I would take a smoke signal and a whistle. Can come in really handy, especially if your kite is down (or separated from you) even small swell/waves obstruct vision. Should fit in your PFD pocket (use a Kayak type life vest or a kite-specific one).
