12,500 for electric foil. 10k for electric bike. 2k for electric skateboard. 4k for electric surfboard. We need a company like tesla to mass produce electric rideables to bring the costs down.

Maybe time for a DIY Thread ; price to build your own should be way less
especially if Ya already have a hydrofoil. LIPO Batteries are getting quite
affordable now ; and so are the really good LIPO chargers and speed controllers.
Only thing i don't know about are the props and motors used in water.

The cheap LIPO batteries and chargers have a Bad habit of catching fire ;
so do your research First. The RC Helicopter forum guys , seam to know the
most about the batteries , because they Max them out a lot.

I have a human powered hydrofoil called a trampofoil.

I used it off on and on for a couple of years - great exercise - but then it starts getting boring really fast.

So I took it to Hawaii and used it in the surf. That was like surfing a praying mantis.

I think it looks cool and is cool but after a few runs yer going to wonder why you spent 12 grand you could have taken a nice vacation with and bought all new kites and boards.

There are a few of us (Virus, PacificMeister, myself) building our own DIY Electric Hydrofoil boards at a FRACTION of the cost, and im putting together a complete DIY kit, just bolt, plug, and play, thats my plan anyway... You can follow my progress and videos at my DIY Electric Hydrofoil blog if you wish: https://diy-electric-hydrofoil.lpages.c ... hydrofoil/

Cool, electric foil = more parts that will be discontinued and unavailable from Lift in 12 months.

Nice.This really should be a components type of thing. If they can get 12K for it good for them...but plop the batteries into a board...wire the mast and buy an engine...have an outlet for the remote on top of the board.

I'd be interested in getting an engine for sure. Here is a guy who published it all on youtube. In 13 parts.
