Connect in Facebook at Northeastern #kitelifecrew, we probably can point out to you where to go all over the area.
There is a local from CT in New York, Blair who managed kiteroute, I guess he will be happy to help as well.

It will be cold water up north, so why not come down to Cape Hatteras? I'll be there that week from April 22, driving from Illinois with a bunch of other kiters and windsurfers and staying in several houses in Avon. There is camping plus cheap motels all along the coast from NY and along the Outer Banks. You could ride in NJ, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia on the way down and/or back up. Go all the way down to Ocracoke and back. Would make for an epic kitesurfing trip. If you do this, let me know and we can meet up in Avon for a downwinder with a fellow South African.

PS, I'll trade you for a tandem flight when I'm in Cape Town in December!
