Yeah, shoulda gotten onto this sooner. Front line snapped mid-jump last night, right at the PBS connection. Also damaged my board, dropping in from a great height...all for the want of a $1 plastic piece

Any word on the new plastic piece/fix? Does it solve the issue or too early to tell for sure?

Please note the recall doesn't fix the issue of the line fraying/getting damage. Check the line when doing the swap, if it's frayed/worn you need to replace the bungee line and the lower front line segment. Still, the damage to that part of the line also can come from the knot going through the PVC tube's entrance when flagging the kite... which is an issue with the 2016, was not fixed on the 2017 bar, was not part of the recall, and the 2018 bar I've seen also looks to have the same exact problem.
Seriously thinking of buying some other bar for my cab kites.

It's the bar that needs modding. Be easy enough above and below the pulley, as the lines are split X meters up already but how to deal with passing through the pulley?
Jesus what was ever wrong with the 2011 bars
I'm still using them
