Is there a high rez picture of the parts that we can actually see as something other than a grey blur? :-/

Cabrinha let this thing go on for a long while:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2393441&hilit=Clew+in

The bar I have and had trouble with has a black plastic or graphite stopper fitting and they told me I did not was the sand off my bar and that is what caused the wear on the line. They did send me a replacement line; however, it took a couple months as Cabrinha was sending wrong parts. I have only used once since and not certain if the new line will last or the black piece will cut it to shreds.
I guess the steel piece was supposed to be better than the black one they used on my bar. I noticed they changed to the steel stoppers shortly after I purchased my bar.

Always denials of liability then when the shit hits the internet fan the modifications start appearing. No different to Neil Pryde windsurfing products back in the day.

so my first trimlite bar had the plastic stopper on it. I self landed out in the OR coast and the stopper snapped off. I had to ride with the bar all slanted in order to get it to work.

so wonder if this will happen again with the plastic stopper.

So what exactly did they change?

A grey plastic stopper to a more calming white colored plastic stopper?.........

exactly, no they went from a metal stopper, to s plastic one. My guess is the metal one was fraying the lines. That is what happened to me. I downlooped my kite and the saftey popped. My kite went flying.

That point of connection was problematic in the 2016 bar already, but no recall issue. The metal stopper being replaced in this video is where the junction gets blocked from passing through the hole. The junction is squished into a ball (because all the pressure of that flying line is held in that point). In the 2016 bars (and on 2017 bars I've seen at the beach), the wear comes from that junction passing through the entrance of the PU tubing when releasing, which is not wide enough. Release the kite with the safety a few times and that junction point starts wearing. If it breaks and you flagged, the line goes right through the metal piece and bye bye kite. The reason it wears is because the junction between both lines forms a sort of squished ball inside that plastic/metal part, which gets wider than the PU tubing entrance.

It's funny, I sent photos of this issue to Cabrinha and they told me it's a non issue and probably sand and insinuated it's user error and left me on my own. My dealer did understand what I was telling them and had in fact seen the issue before and sent me replacement parts for free. More funny is that a normal user like me, not an engineer or super advanced kiter was able to spot this issue when they launched the 2016 bar.

It's a pitty, the trimlite bar basically only needs this weak design point to have fixed before being a top choice.
I remember reading your post about this when i had an issue back in late 2015. I had just purchased the trimlite bar.
I have had both issues happen.
I love the trimlite, reminds me of the core bar, with the 3:1 depower. But this is getting a little old.

It does make you wonder about their testing process. Or perhaps the prototypes being tested differ in quality of materials vs production, either way sad and unacceptable from an industry leader. If this pattern continues they will be a former industry leader.
