Puerto Vallarta / Bucerías / Sayulita: Any wind in June?

Postby loco4viento » Fri May 26, 2017 7:26 pm

Does anyone know if I'm likely to find any wind in the area just north of Puerto Vallarta in June? I don't need much wind at all, but 8-12 mph would be nice and anything more would be fantastic.

Also, any recommendations as to where to go kiting? I will be staying in Sayulita but can drive.

Thanks,

John

My friends run a kitesurf shop in Bucerias and June is supposed to have steady wind.

They will close up around the 25th to head north for vacation but they are still doing business right up until close.

My experience here ( I live in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle ) is that the north end of the bay has pretty consistent wind every afternoon.

Give Adam and Veronica a call.

No sweat, hope you have a blast.

Watch that water in Sayulita if it has been raining when you get here..... that is pretty much untreated sewage dumping right into the main break, unfortunately..... I would recommend surfing ( unless you are a pure kitesurfer ) anywhere between Punta de Mita/Anclote down to Burros or a few of the points you can sneak into there.
Having lived in San Pancho and having had kids in school in Sayulita I am speaking from experience regarding the black water. Such a shame.

Or get out on a boat to surf some cleaner waves.

My sons and I are planning on surfing a lot, but I wouldn't know how to go on such a trip without a kite or two in case there is a chance I could put them to use. Sad that so many river mouth spots are so nasty after a rain, but it's just an unfortunate fact. Your warning is most appreciated, and we will absolutely check out other spots if there's been rain. Thanks!
