The cream ( Efudex cream ) they sold me scares me very much . They tell me it is going to burn the skin pretty badly . I'll wait until mid September (about end of kiting season here) to use it because it will weaken my skin and let bacterias in , then infections , . I will try to get another specialist point of view before starting to use it .

Oh come on. Thats not what anyone is saying. It is the current truth, and of course things change as we are gathering more information, but we have to remember that us questioning results should lead to more studies, not that we can create a new truth based on woodoo and weird random beliefs because that is what gets us humans into trouble every - single - time. Blind beliefs does not have the same value as peer reviewed and scientifically studies phenomenon.

So no need to play a victim with a snarky tone. Debate needs to be motivated by knowledge created by science.

Be glad the cream is not Picato! Picato is only 2 days of treatment vs 2 weeks. However it's WAY more evasive and painful, but the same recovery time as Efudex (2-4 weeks). Even my skin surgeon wasn't keen on Picato.
Like you, I'm waiting till fall/winter to start Efudex treatment since colder weather takes the edge off during recovery. I know a few that have done it and say it's not that bad of an experience, but it's definitely not fun. Out of what's available (Efudex, Picato, Aldara, Levulan Photodynamic Therapy, etc), Efudex is currently the most effective and tolerable treatment.

Stay away from the sun between 10am and 4pm
Wear a sunscreen that is "safe" of at least SPF15 if you like
If your shadow is short "seek shade"
If your shadow is shorter than your height the UV rays are strong enough to cause sunburn
As you become older your tolerance to the sun diminishes
The sun at zenith causes the highest UV radiation.......in July many places at upper 20's to low teens latitude gets 11+ index !!
