He's not wrong. Many sunscreens are as bad as UV rays from the sun. Mainly thbecause aerosol ones.

Try Raw Elements. Best sunscreen
Yeah, absolute utter and complete bullshit. It's the nonsense spread by the likes of scumbag Mike Adams so he can sell you an "organic all-natural" product

Just like, you know . . . Raw Elements, the non-GMO sunscreen
EDIT: wow they really go full retard on the claims in the ingredient section :o
Hostile crowd....lol! Not saying all, but many sunscreens have toxic ingredients because they have been found to cause melanoma. Hence many are changing.
Citations needed, and make them meta-anaylsis . . . or GTFO.

Who is EWG? And why do they cite themselves in their "scientific" articles?
Oh wait now I get it: http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/#.WWyOcFKB0nU

And product number 3? Why it's our old friend Dr Merconman!
http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/browse/suns ... WyO0VKB0nU

Very hostile to quackery. Especially when it's used to sell their own brand of the exact. Same. Thing.

When I've said "As bad as sun is, chemical crap in sunscreens is even worse in the long run.
And by "long run" I mean on a daily basis, like every day - all year long.
*** Gotta the read the labels to see what you are slapping on ***

Organoloonies citing EWG . . . who fluff for Mercola. Oh what a tangled web we weave.

I guess they were basing that on that one study with the 82 participants who were already susceptible to photo allergic contact dermatitis and 1/4 of whom then reacted to oxybenzone . . .

But that's ok! Buy our zinc oxide based sunscreen! We decided it's perfectly safe!

Just like cell phones. Who knows if they rays are damaging or not.
Oh I know right! Cellphones are microwave transceivers and you put it right up to your head! And you cook your food in a microwave oven! OMG that must mean we're microwaving our brains!

Who knows? Science, that's who.

Unfortunately the natural sun screens did not perform well against UV A and UV B rays in the Consumer Reports testing and were not recommended.

Well, am glad you have decided what has been finalized about all these 'questions' and is no longer up for debate. The 'real' science' has spoken and , of course, will never be open to re-assessment again so why talk about it. All I was asking was
Have there been any well done long term studies published? Sorry I asked. I'm out if this silliness.

cglazier , I thought about it too . The specialists do not sell any products but they all have a percentage back from the drugstores ...
The cream ( Efudex cream ) they sold me scares me very much . They tell me it is going to burn the skin pretty badly . I'll wait until mid September (about end of kiting season here) to use it because it will weaken my skin and let bacterias in , then infections , . I will try to get another specialist point of view before starting to use it .

Oh come on. Thats not what anyone is saying. It is the current truth, and of course things change as we are gathering more information, but we have to remember that us questioning results should lead to more studies, not that we can create a new truth based on woodoo and weird random beliefs because that is what gets us humans into trouble every - single - time. Blind beliefs does not have the same value as peer reviewed and scientifically studies phenomenon.

So no need to play a victim with a snarky tone. Debate needs to be motivated by knowledge created by science.

Be glad the cream is not Picato! Picato is only 2 days of treatment vs 2 weeks. However it's WAY more evasive and painful, but the same recovery time as Efudex (2-4 weeks). Even my skin surgeon wasn't keen on Picato.
Like you, I'm waiting till fall/winter to start Efudex treatment since colder weather takes the edge off during recovery. I know a few that have done it and say it's not that bad of an experience, but it's definitely not fun. Out of what's available (Efudex, Picato, Aldara, Levulan Photodynamic Therapy, etc), Efudex is currently the most effective and tolerable treatment.

Stay away from the sun between 10am and 4pm
Wear a sunscreen that is "safe" of at least SPF15 if you like
If your shadow is short "seek shade"
If your shadow is shorter than your height the UV rays are strong enough to cause sunburn
As you become older your tolerance to the sun diminishes
The sun at zenith causes the highest UV radiation.......in July many places at upper 20's to low teens latitude gets 11+ index !!
