Hi All,
Anyone used the Brunette Soft-Tech boards? What do you think of them?
They do the S-Tech in three models
S-BRYCK 4'10
S-BRYMM 5'4
S-BYRON 5'10
http://rdp.brunotti.com/en/products/boa ... ech-boards
I'm considering getting one as a first kite surfboard...

If you want a soft high performance board you will need to check these out.
EPS foam and epoxy glass surfboard....wrapped with a 1/8" cushy aerospace material that is soft but will not absorb water or look ugly and ragged like EVA foam will do in short time.
imagine your car steering wheel.
Its soft on the outside but trust your life with the inner strength.
Complete epoxy surfboard wrapped in cush.
CUSH surfboards --made by silencer surfboards
I am riding a 5'6 that is 2" thick and 28 liters of volume on this video.

Are those Brunotti boards only available in Europe?

Flex fins = trash
But could be a cool idea for a softtop shortboard for kiting

could be interesting if you're into the circus tricks style of riding a surfboard. although with a EPS core id think it would be just as prone to snapping as any other shortboard, maybe even moreso since it would have to be thinner to account for the foam outer layer. maybe more resistant to heel dents/holes from hard landings?

Saying this shows that you don't know what you're talking about. The core material has the least amount to do with how strong a board is.

Please explain how this board would be more difficult to snap in half than a regular board, then?

There are a lot of variables---obviously.
eps core is the foam in the center of the board.
I can't speak for brunotti's boards but I know the lay up of the CUSH surfboards is not depending on the eps for it's structural strength.
On my CUSH boards 1/8 of divinycell under the deck redistributes load so the eps doesn't take the load the same....helps minimize pressure dents too.
It is the outside of the board---the glass---epoxy---skin that creates the strength as those are the materials absorbing the shock.
My cush boards have two parabolic stringers running just inside the rails....this makes the board stronger.
My board has 6 oz glass (warp or s glass depending on personal choice) and epoxy resin. Then another 4 or 6 ounce patch over that. Or 2x2x2x4 oz even.
In addition there is a 1/8" skin over the glass to absorb even more of the blows and give the board a natural and animated feel without any chatter from the water slapping it.
The eps itself is not your source of strength....Norcalnomad is right.

and yeah the flexy fin thing is odd unless you are concerned about safety.
There are safe fins with silicone edges from surfco that are actually very high performance.
But no floppy fins for me...im with ya.
