Your worst kitesurf injury ?

Postby TheKiteSurfer » Sat Jul 22, 2017 9:35 pm

We've all had Kitesurfing injuries of varying degrees.
What's your worst injury?
How long were you out of the game?
What did you do to fill the gap?
Did you continue Kitesurfing?

Several could have died moments but no injuries taking me off the water for any period of time. The think the worst one was a twisted knee which took about 6 months to come right. But I kited throughout.

I fractured my sternum (It literally exploded) hitting hard the water after a megaloop in very strong wind. I was using a wave kite....big mistake :nono: ! Worst crash ever, I risked my life, I remained unconscius for several seconds It was a miracle that I was able to relaunch my kite and get to the beach body dragging.

Cheers

Carlo

Pretty pissant injuries really. Thats why kiting is so good. The risk to reward ratio is pretty good.

Oh. I forgot.
Broke a toe walk across rocks on the way to land. Carried on kiting but damn that toe hurt for months. Kept hitting it.....
Bit of whiplash learning to hydrofoil.

If I count land kiting. Split my head open getting lofted into a fence land boarding. Compressed my spine buggying in sand dunes.

But mountain bike has a bigger list.
Broken several toes hitting stuff
3 dislocated fingers,
Ac joint
Brocken wrist, elbow and a hernia.

All in all pretty low injury count for many years of shenanigans
