2018 Naish Foils

Postby clint2070 » Wed Jul 26, 2017 6:14 am

Looks like Naish is is getting more advanced with their foils. I like my Hover 160. It definitely made my learning curve a lot better. The one thing I don't like is the lack of volume in the board. It makes it hard to jibe off foil. The new boards look like they've addressed this issue. The foil itself looks more performance oriented too. Anyone know when they will be released ?

that's a ton of volume in a short narrow board and 4 " thick! almost guaranteed it will be much harder to surface jibe than a low volume board. should be great for racing though

:thumb: Way to narrow for learning anything and very thick boards reduce feed back from the foil. Low volume, 50cm wide 140 to 155cm length is best suited for learning surface jibes.

True it looks like it could be good for racing and funny how it does not suit at all their hydrofoil which is anything but good for racing :D !

So much more and better choice from original foilboarding companies ...

Shows how much I know about foils ! haha I can't surface jibe my 160 hover very well. It seems to just sink ! I thought with volume it would help me

Closed foil plate mount holes: -1
The tail vertical stabilizer -- too small

What do you mean? Why are the foil plate mount holes wrong?
I LOVE the idea of being able to switch out parts and move from board to board...be it kite, surf or what have you. Having one SUP I can use for SUP, windsurfing and foiling seems like a perfect storm. Now I just need to have a t-bar I can add and remove a little engine on. The design can be ultra simple.

Thats a big tail fin, funny coming from naish. I just naturally expect their stuff to lean toward wave riding trends.

Open like this one:

It saves some time during assembly/disassembly -- not requiring to loosen up the screws completely free. I have never seen this design adopted on carbon foils yet; hope it would be there by the time I grow up for an upgrade.
