Surprised as well, the Rebel was still selling well and kind of unique. If you didn't want the 5 lines there was the Evo. Personally not a fan of 5 lines though.

North is becoming Cabrinha.

No way. 10x better quality, technology, boards, materials and designs.

The technology and safety is far better now, so they can manage to build a kite with the same characteristics an uncomplicate things.

Obviously you didnt fly a Rebel with 5th line for years and the exactly same model North Fuse in 4 lines for years too.

North does not evolve developing a 4 lines Rebel. They could have done that 10 years ago, but they sustain the active 5th line against the whole world saying that 5th line was better. So they were lying for a decade or they are lying now.

The active 5th line has an unique feeling in commanding the Rebel that made up the Rebel.

If you only can drive with automatic transmission, dont buy a Ferrari. (f***, this year Ferrari also screw up the manual gearbox )

2011 model was their best...i still fly all 5 Rebels i bought that year...unique feeling like you say...unique short bar trow depower etc etc ....the 2018 name of that kite is all wrong !!

I began kiteboarding in 2005.
I still do own 5 North Rhinos, 2004 (4 lines), 2005, 2006 (5th line) , 2008 (4 lines or Passive 5th line flying).
I own 2 Rebels 2011-2014 (active 5th line) and 1 Fuse 2012 (exactly the same Rebel kite, but with bridle and 4 lines bar).
I own 1 Vegas 2016 (5th line)

So, i perfectly know the difference between 4 an 5 lines North kites and how does it fell.
