How about an adjustable pressure sensor at the v split so if the bar bumps it's nothing happens but if the bar slams it, release happens? Kind of like how ski bindings will allow some shock but then will let go with too much.

are you trolling?

have you ever kited before?

letting your bar go is the first thing you should do when you crash
He's just pulling your strings. Nobody is actually stupid enough to seriously argue that you should never let go of your bar.

I let go of mine probably 50-100 times every session. That's one of the main reasons I live my frankenbar with its short depower throw. Let go, unspin lines, regrab bar while never losing my edge. :thumb:

Geeeeeee. the dude has only asked for some opinions to freshen his bar, but we're down to automatic ejection seats with a self-loading emergency diaper yet again... WTF is wrong with this place?

Not let go of your bar much. How do you untangle your lines then after a rotation or loop?

Most of the time I don't let go when I crash either. Like to stay in contact with my kite so I know where it is and what it is doing. Strech my arm and don't steer in that case off corse.

You rotate the bar hand over hand. Check BRM Greg using his CCS. I am actually so used to it I find myself doing this also when using my other bars.

You can definitely do it that way, but if you've got 2-3 rotations it's MUCH faster to just give it a flip and let it sort itself out. Doing the hand over hand is a limitation imposed by the equipment. It's also nearly impossible to do when you're riding toeside down a wave with the kite behind you. Give it a flip, the bar auto-sorts and grab back on. Easy and always works.

You are trying to figure out if i let go of bar uncross the strings...good one...funny :P
Here..i loop constantly
Backroll kiteloop...no cross...from toeside also...no cross
Forward downloop transition...no cross...from toeside also...no cross
Standard jump w/kiteloop...do backroll after landing...gets rid of cross
Etc etc...hands stay on bar
Give it a try
