Not sure about that magenta/pink color featured through out North's 2018 lineup.
Seriously though, they tout going to three struts and say the design "banishes instability" around the wingtips. Why make any five strut kites then?

Speaking about this every year "new" old marking sht, especially from North- 5 line is safest, 5 struts are best stability and etc. Sucks all this mind washing. But in other way what they must say new - they just megalooping their marketing text: every year every kite turns better, jumps higher and etc and etc. Probably still soon we will see some new tactics of marketing, as kite not turning at all, not jumping, not flying-m - would tou like to try it - worsest kite in the world ? :) We are proud, we made it finnaly :)

Every company selling any product is constantly marketing the new design is better in every way. Not just north, not just the other kite companies, but every single company selling a product or service. Why you singling out north?

lately been reading about hey great core is with their two year product cycle and they only release a kite every two years because they want to make significant changes. What a load of absolute rubbish! Have you seen cores marketing videos...Christ they are worse than north and Cabrinha (Who make horrible marketing videos themselves). It is more expensive to test and produce a new design every year, gear up the factory for the new design, get the message out to the public. Core do it because its a cheaper (and smarter) option. That's it. They do not have the R and D resources to chuck at new designs every year. North do.

Which planet do you live on then? Obviously not the one selling i-phones worldwide to chumps who need the latest and greatest.

Yeh I'm with you above....three struts..can;t see how it can possible not be more unstable when fully loaded, especially with a heavy guy under it. I call bullshit on that one to.

Maybe they felt compelled to go to three struts to better differentiate between Evo and Rebel.

I would agree with that. And unless I'm much mistaken (which I might be) kite companies have been developing the 'load frame' principle (loudly touted by Airush) to make canopies more stable.

Yup.. Bull$hit every year, from every manufacturer. I go to change settings on the kite and they read "direct - very direct" etc.... I always think bull$hit.. they should read "vague - somewhat vague"

I was looking forward to the new Evo, but after seeing a couple of videos of it flying I don't think I will be getting one. I did notice it had a bit of instability in the tips and was jellyfishing a little, but that could be lack of air pressure. However it seems to turn nice and the canopy gets a real twist in a turn. Being a heavy bloke, it appears it wouldn't like me loading it up, and I say this subjectively without testing it.
