Anywhere. your going to have to drive to kite. Great Kiting and one of my favorite vacation spots. What you really need to decide is what type of place do you want to stay. out of the way than compass dive resort or rum point. Lots of people and restaurants 7 mile beach. Best kite spots are east end and west bay. I have kitted rum point too but mostly at west bay. There are even waves if your willing to go on a whale watch to the sand bar breaks out in the channel. Kitesurf caymen is the west bay spot on barkers beach. Dirt road to get there. Close to seven mile.

Renting a car. Sounds like a complicated affair....just want to go somewhere and kite....last year we went to south padre island and that was spectacular for KB. we stayed right across the street from the launch at the hilton garden. The wife wants to go somewhere really warm.....

Gonna have to rent a car unless you stay at Compass point dive resort https://compasspointdiveresort.com/ . Than your stuck at a resort eating their expensive food and drinks. Not even sure if they offer kite services anymore. I wouldn't go to GC without renting a car. It's not a big deal. I think Kitesurf Cayman has a shuttle. Give Them a call and get a place to stay thats close to their shop probable gonna be on 7 mile beach. I rented a surfboard from jhon last time I was there so all I brought was my kite, bar and harness. Super nice dude! Also this is where the wind blows most. https://www.kitesurfcayman.com/
If your staying at rum point that Sweet spot is the kite shop there. never have used their services and would call to see if they are still doing kite tours.http://www.sweetspotwatersports.com/

Prevailing winds are generally from the easterly direction so you'll either be kiting at Barker's or out on East End. The only way you could get by without renting a car would be to stay in the 7 Mile Beach area, but that is leeward and offshore the majority of time. Barker's and East End are both a fair drive from airport and core of 7 Mile Beach area, and I'm not aware of any shuttles or taxi's that would get you there reasonably. Out on East End there is The Reef Resort and Morritt's Resort - they have 1 and 2 bedroom condo's; a nice grocery store across the road, and a restaurant or two within walking distance. Very quiet side of the island, and great kiting right out the back door, with inside-reef conditions and a slot to get out into the waves if you wish. Again, only issue for you is how do you get there from the airport? Those resorts might offer a shuttle service for staying with them, but not sure - you'd have to check. Not a big deal renting a car, there are several places to do so within a block of the airport.

they are right - if you don't want a car, this is the wrong island. but it is a small & chill island and car is not a big deal. you will be going slow and dodging the occasional chicken and driving on the left. There are plenty of Caribbean islands where you don't need a car, but this isn't one. but if you are super against a car and too late to change islands, there are some condos close to Barkers and maybe you could walk down the dirt road about 15 minutes. And friendly locals so you might be getting rides after a day or two.
