The irony is that the reporter on the beach is more at risk from the storm surge than the kiter
Seeing the underpowered kiter and the reporters hair was only being blown around a bit, to me looked like about 25 knots.
To be fair she did look to be standing in the lee of something sheltering her from the wind. Should have had a full shot so we could see if her dress was being blown up.

I had a couple people text this clip to me last night. My first thought was "lucky bastard..."
We had a good laugh. Yeah those news reporters are idiots. The sky is always falling somewhere.
Non-kiting people in general, are always shaking their heads and calling us crazy.....especially the spring kiting when we're out there when half the lake is still covered in ice.
Agree on the could use a bigger kite/board bit too.

Yeah, we were lucky over here in the panhandle. We stayed just outside of the cone, so for us it just brought great wind. I got out yesterday on an 8m Flite in about 30-35 mph of side off wind, small clean waves. Nice little booster session.
