Cheers Guys
Yep , we like the look of Zanzibar but I better not mention the spiders to the wife

The most exotic virginal landscapes I've ever seen.
It's the original spice island, so the spices are truly exquisite, nothing like the bastardized versions we know from Indian cuisines.
Great for relaxed, exotic downwinders!
Just watch out for those five inch spiders! They aren't Halloween leftovers, as I thought at first! THEY ARE REAL
OK, maybe I'm not recommending it...
I was in 19-31th December '16 on Boavista. I used 10m kite - other tourists 8-12m - locos were on 7m wave kites. It was warm (>25C) although we had a sand "storm" meaning flights could not land (no ILS at Boavista airport - not enough visibility by the flight rules) so we were force to continue our vacation for additional week for free. Sal would be better islands for flight operation. Riu Karamboa at least had a lot of people & activity for family. But for kiting better place (both TT and surf) was Ponta Antonia at north shore for on-shore trade winds. We booked daily jeep trip there with loco-kiter from hotel's 'surfshop'. But kiteshop reps kited in front of hotel.
I've been there in mid december and it's absolutely fantastic. High season starts in February but in January I guess you'll kite everyday. And better of all, it's close to europe. Praia is very beautiful to visit.
