weird Powerlines, need help !

Postby loucames » Fri Oct 20, 2017 10:14 pm

Hi !

I'm a beginner, and just got a new bar (second hand), however, the end of the inside lines are exactly the same as the other 2 front lines, but on my kite, to attach them it's 2 different systems ( that's normal ) , it's either rope with knots for the front lines, or the opposite.
My bar is a Cabrinha overdrive 1X, and my kite is a Cabrinha chaos.
Is it normal, and I just need to make a knot ? or isn't it?

I hope I have been understandable, and thanks for any help !
cordially
lucas

You can simply put a knot in your lines...I did. It needs to be very tight, so it doesn't slip. Mine don't.

Buying or making some new (universal) pigtails is the better option, though. If you have access to some 3 or 4 mm dyneema, it'd be easy to do.

The centre lines (white) should have knots and the outer lines red and black/grey should have larkshead loops - (The standard Cabrinha ones also have a small black tab on the loops).
Are you sure the red & Black lines can't make loops, maybe they have been pulled tight and dried hard.
If you have pigtails missing, the previous owner may have modified it and had odd pigtails on their kite(s) to make the bar cross compatible.
You can't be far from a shop, take it in and let them look at it.

I don't think you should be on a chaos.
