Choose between 3 big boards

Postby Infected78 » Sat Oct 28, 2017 10:51 am

HI everyone ,I am 110 kg and want to know which board will be better for me.
Right now I have xenon rayo 145×43 with 12m core xr kite and I am find it very difficult to surf in 15 knots and below.
So in order to improve it which boaRd will be better:
1.crazy fly all around 145×44
2.crazy fly all around 145×48
3.takoon source 158×46
Can I buy or of them and it will fit for strong wind as well?
Thanks a lot.
If this is not the correct place to post it,pls direct me to the right place.

Hi
I'm a little heavier, but I think it's possibly your kite size that is holding you back.
Below are the wind ranges for me and the boards I use. I can stretch some of the kites range with changing the board combination.
The Crazyfly Cruiser 145 X 48 I only tried recently, but it was a load of fun, great range. Was unsure about 48cm wide, but it felt fine.
Probably ok for 13m and up.

Kites
116Kg Late spring/summer/early Fall winds

I agree with badgb21. Under 15 knots, a 12 m kite really won't provide enough power. Your current board is fine, although I also like the Crazy Fly boards. But you'd be better off investing in another kite (15-17m) to handle the lighter winds.

Thanks, like badgb21 wrote my goal is to stretch the kite range a little ,perhaps it will be better to focus on the kite size but right now I can't effort it.
Are you sure board cannot help here?
What is the better option for me between those three boards I mentioned above?

High weight -> high squaremetre!?!
Try a 21m Speed5 or 18m Sonic2 and everything would bei fine! ;-)

1cm of wide is similar to 10cm in length.
So I would go with 2nd or 3rd.
Why you don't go bigger with Monsterdoor?

I am trying to find a board that will fit to large range of winds.let's say between 15-25 .door will be problematic in 20 knots and beyond, doesn't it?

If you're tight on cash then fit 5m longer lines for your 12m with a 46-48 cm wide low rocker board.
