I have two weeks holiday in mid February. Intermediate kiter with non-kiting girlfriend.
Any good experiences of places that time of year? Considering Colombia, Cape Town or maybe the Grenadines.
Does anyone have experience of Costa Rica or Panama at that time of year?

Cape Town without a doubt.
Tons to do if not windy or you need a rest. Hire a car.
Try Langebaan for a few days, nice bit of flat water and nice place to unwind.
Went to Costa Rica. blew like f***! way too windy for me. Very remote location.

Barbados - used to live there part time. Wife loves it.
Will be there February 24th to March 7th and really looking forward to seeing my friends.
28-30C, warm blue sea, white sand for wife to lounge around on, easy on the inside, reef break on the outside. Silver Sands.
No wetsuit and board shorts and T-shirt all day and night. Mmmm ...

What's the most common size you use ther? Are you on a surfboard or TT?
I've only been there one time a looong time ago windsurfing. At that time the wind was pretty inconsistent and I would say more 15-20 knots. It was only for 2 weeks so maybe just unlucky.
Isn't it quite expensive also? I was there 1993 and it was pretty expensive already back then.

As you say, January/February is typically 15-20 knots - the NE Trades don't blow like they used to.
This year I'll take TT+12/10/8 and not take SB because I'm still crap on it.
It's not cheap for sure but it's the West coast which is most expensive, South coast less so.

Cartagena, Colombia is nice in February.
Good winds, daily, from 15-35 knots.
Increasing from noon on, last until sunset.
Warm water and air, just shorts.
Beautiful old city, very romantic. Great place to go with your wife.

If you are considering these two I recommend checking out Ometepe Nicaragua. It’s an island of two volcanos, great night life, good clean wind, and fresh water. One of my favorite spots on my motorcycle trip south. Also not too far from the Costa Rica spot if you want to mix it up a little. Maybe 90 minutes including the bordercheck.

Hello, I live in Nicaragua, in the caribbean side.
We have good wind since december. This month we have 20 to 30 knots.
I try new spots, pearl cays and the pearl lagoon. very good place.
