Learning Raley to Blind the hard way !

Postby jeromeL » Sat Nov 04, 2017 8:12 pm

Landed my first Raley to Blind on my last OBX trip, I thought I would make a video showing the hardship and pain of learning that trick ;)
Bonus is a powered kiteloop on 12m star Sirius. (I don't recommend it for the knees though)

Didn't really review the tutorial prior to trying, Ewan Jaspan has a good one... sounds like my main issue was not letting go of back hand...
Make sure you try to go blind hooked in first because when you land halfway on blind toeside edge it's pretty painful on toes and ankle...
Im glad I was in wetsuit when the leash pulls under your armpit could get bad bruised.

Should probably have practiced riding blind hooked and surface pass before going for it...

Anyway enjoy the wipeouts, unhooked wipeouts are funny especially when you never let go of the bar ;)

It does sound like having your hooked in blind riding and surface passes under control would help a lot.

But then when you see a pro doing it in a video and it looks easy, "I can totally do this, no need to watch that pointless tutorial"
On the plus side your nostrils have probably never been than clean.

Lol someone else made the nostril comments, is that a thing?
Never bothered me to have water up my nose, you got to exhale a bit when you wipe out ;)

That's how I get rid of colds. If there's no wind, water-skiing or wakeboarding also works.
If you fall on your back with enough speed you get a complete flush.

I'm goofy snowboard, skateboard, kick ball with right but can do left too. I jump with right foot but I'm right handed so makes volleyball a bit unbalanced ;)
For tricks I do both way except unhooking which on my weak side I always feel need to land toeside ;)

And then you said the clean nostril thing which has already been repeated a million times on this forum already :nono: Pretty lame, start coming up with your own words instead of sounding like a robot from now on.

By the way great video Jerome, and don't forget to learn blind riding switch. Haha!
