This might explain why it took 2 years to make this camera. This was posted on the Soloshot support website:

WOW, i have to say. the wait was well worth it. i have been using my SOLOSHOT3 25 and 65 for many months now getting some very sweet footage
kitesurfing
sup
dirtbike
etc.
the most recent update is pretty rad also. manual control so we can use like a typical vid camera, motion time lapse. live stream is wild and works awesome.
i have a little code if interested that can get you a free tripod and possibly some other goodies.
great review by the way
PS: i think it took 2 years to complete because this is a seriously tech piece of equipment that no one has ever before achieved before these guys.

How is the shaking in the wind now?

@toby. The 25x shows no shake at all. And recently they pushed an over the air update that gives the 65x solid high wind stabilization and shake is barely noticeable. It’s 1,000x better than anyone hand holding

Well, just filmed in 14-17 knots with a wind protection (not fully protected) and the result is just bad.
Still shaking. Nothing solved in my opinion.
Just wonder why they don't release the adapter to add my own camera which is 100% shake free.
Love my SS2

Montanna: Respectfully, no. I just did the update. The shaking is just as bad. I would describe it as 1,000x WORSE than someone operating the camera on a tripod. People need to be aware of this. The problem is with the mechanism itself. With the lens extended, even partially, say halfway, there is too much torque for the motor to hold the lens steady. When the lens is pointing straight into the wind, it is not as bad. But when the lens is extended at right angles to the wind it is unacceptable. This happens in moderate wind, say 10-15 knots/mph.
You CAN get great video with this camera. It is possible. But there is a lot of effort you need to go through to get it.
On YouTube you can find a comparison between a hand held camera and the SS3 by Our Kite Life. It's worth taking a look at it for anyone considering buying this camera.

I took the time to make a 30 s clip showing the shaking that is typical. I would like to upload it directly. Toby, is it possible to upload directly? Or must I upload first to YouTube (or other) and then use the link?

I have been having great success with my soloshot3 optic 25.
Has to be fully protected from the wind. I put it downwind of my van.
