This really pisses me off. They make a fucking ad then they try to make out it is something special and they're doing us a favour by allowing us to subscribe to watch it. To make matters worse it's a 3gb download.

Don't make us jump through fucking hoops to watch your stupid ad. If you want us to watch an ad for your shitty products then stick it on Vimeo or Youtube and your web site, send out a link so we can see it. If not. f***. Off!

Where is problem to dowload 3gb ? It takes me 10 minutes to download. Bigger problem is movie itself, because not possible understand movie story, just tricks, tricks, riders and etc. Of course great quality, good editing, beautiful images, but what they would like to say? That kiteboarding life is bubble? And what is not bubble in our lifes ? I missed catching in iq level. Just movie for eyes. Or maybe roll up of brands and their representatives ? I call this style hypster cinema.

Why nobody make movie for example about developing new kite , idea, scratch in laptop, development, than testing, making in factory, distributing, making promos of it, and distributing, how pro riders working on that promo, results. This will be much more interesting to see.

Just because this video isn't the video you wanted doesn't mean those videos you described don't exist. There are plenty of videos that exist on the WWW that have what you are looking for. Maybe the brand doesn't product them every single year, but if you search you will find a good amount of RnD or pro riders work on results.

This video is a completely opposite of everything else. This video jumped the shark. It was so trendy that it was painful. Like a German rapper trying to emulate American hip hop culture. Just looked forced from start to finish.

I wasn't going to comment because I couldn't be bothered, but your comment echoes my sentiments.

I attempted to watch the video and found it excruciatingly bad. There's all this arty crap that achieves no purpose. I'm all for art, but it has to draw the viewer in, not bore people and waste huge amounts of time. I flicked through and tried to find anything of interest ... and failed. Crappest video of all time made even worse by the attempt to hype it up as an artistic cinematic release.

I mean serious movie about from idea to all further. All this agressive DM selfish promos and promo of his soon's achievements don't seems for me tasty. It seems as to much made with E621 emulgator. Jokes of rich Western kiter in poor Asia factory where people working for probably 1-3 USD in a day don't seems very funny. Any way, in my country i didn't saw any Epic kite in 6 years:) But neverthless aesthetical and intelectual poins DM videos gives some fresh energy in winter timer:)

Whoa. Ozbungy... Not liking the video is fine, and posting that here is also fine but I think your anger is misdirected due to misunderstanding what this film is and how it was created...

North Kiteboarding gave zero budget or direction for the making of this film. No money, no professional editing assistance. The website and social media created for this film were designed and paid for by the riders themselves. This is their project, not ours. We (NKB) actually fought against it. Our riders (and most pro outdoor athletes these days) are incentivized to create lots of short media for the modern A.D.D. social media consumer, not a longer movie like this.

Noe (and Craig, Colleen, Stefan, and Aaron) were sick of the short media consumption and wanted to create the type of full-length video they (and I back in windsurf days) grew up on. We at North Kiteboarding told them it would be on their own dime and their own time, and to make sure they weren't ignoring their contractual obligations. Most shots were filmed after competitions were run or official filming for other projects had been completed. All of the editing was done by Noe on his own time.

Also please consider that Noe is 17 or 18 years old and this was his first project in the editing booth. Besides doing all of the editing he did most of the filming as well. I personally watched Noe sit by himself in a basement one evening poring over footage while a party raged on the street outside. How many teenagers do you know will sit out free beer and a fun time with their friends to work on their passion? I think his skill behind the camera (and in front of it) and his efforts, ability, and passion in the editing booth are astounding at any age, but to be putting this kind of movie together as his first project at his age blows my mind.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not disavowing it because I think it's an embarrassment... I loved the film and the feedback after the opening here in Hood River was extremely positive, but then again, there's a big wakestyle/freestyle scene here and a lot of the riders in the film have spent a lot of time here... I just want to give credit where it's due. Much of the longer videos we see are produced and created by brands as a marketing move to push the brands. This is not the case with this movie. Love it or hate it, this was a film created entirely by and for the love of the sport by these riders.

As such, please consider the possibility that the reason you don't like the film is that it wasn't created for you. If it had been a North Kiteboarding marketing video we probably would have done something more mass-consumption oriented. Again, this is the vision/creation of a bunch of young freestyle riders. They created the video that they wanted, not what they thought North or their customers would want.

(disclaimer: Once we saw the finished project and realized how good it was we elected to donate raffle prizes for the openings. Most openings had North kites, boards, and swag in a raffle with the proceeds going to local causes. We also helped push it out through our media channels once it was finished. That was the extent of our support for this effort.)

Again, not trying to change your mind on the movie or silence critics. I just have a little insight into the film's creation that may soften some of your anger/hatred and perhaps even earn a little respect/appreciation of the effort that went into it, even if it's not your style of kite video.

Just shortly, some thoughts after Dan remarks.
Wow, i did knew that this movie done by 18 years old guy. In this case it' master piece ! I think no one will consider how all visual side is good, itls simply perfect. Still people there talking about content and aim of movie. I earlier wrote that its post hypster movie (i did knew details of author age), and i immediately felt there another kind of aesthetic look and reflection in this movie. Now i full understand that i was found comming new generation, which aim is not to reflect something in contect, aim is itself just as aim. Or as moto - dont take all around seriuosly, even content of art, its not matter, we obviously living in visual culture age, text or hearing ages was in past :)
Second: we all know was famous book- partisan marketing. So, seems that this movie is direct example of it. Maybe even masterpiece:)
Third -angry. Yes, its now very unpopular in good western mentality now, seems that you cannot be angry, simple cannot, because its very low level. But i think people can be angry and have right to bee and reflect it, it's natural. And these comments great reflecting what people dont like in styles of riding and pushing.
4th- still for me somehow from all kite movies kept in memory mostly Ruben Lenten and his storm seeking/kiting episodes. And of course hisory of kiteboarding. Reflection is that still despite visual side, content is most important.

And personally for Noe, you did really very good movie at your age, dont react to sensous to all our comments. Do movies, you have talent for sure.
