Most kitesurfers certainly don't want actions like this, windsurfing has always been part of sailing since the beginning it didn't have much choice, but kitesurfing still has a choice, to reject all this none sense, it's not as if there is a big grass roots following of foil racing just wanting to be recognised, it's just a few would be gravy trainers looking for financial reward.
Well said!

Of course there is a really intense group that follows foil racing, they absolutely love it, it's just not a big part of the entire kiteboarding scene. The biggest part of kiteboarding is just regular people going out and boosting on a twintip on a sunny day.

Sailing is different from kiteboarding. Kiteboarding is not naturally a racing sport. It is naturally a free ride sport. Sailing is naturally a racing sport. What happens when you get two ordinary people both in their hobie's or their lasers and set them adrift at your local spot. They will go race from here to the island and back. Same with iceboats, or cars. Racing is inherent to sailing. Kiteboarding is not inherently a racing sport, and should never have been put under the World Sailing organization. We are much more like skateboarding, wakeboarding and snowboarding. Yes you can race, but that's not the appeal and the way the olympics looks to grab ahold of kiteboarding and use our sport to gain viewers, it's all very cynical and a transparent political ploy that will do nothing for kiteboarding and whose sole purpose is to somehow save the sport of sailing from being dropped from the olympics. Because sailing is very boring. Actually I do love sailing. It's not boring. It's boring watching sailing.
Yup, I agree

Most athletes in the Olympics today don’t represent their countries! You are so ignorant... The Olympics habe become one of the most totalitarian global enterprises there are, a lot worse than any kite manufacturer. Again, you have no clue what winning Olympic gold means 🙄
Madame, ignorant is the least of my faults, I've been involved in witnessing Olympic selection since 1980 in fact at that time I gave up the option to represent my country as it's Olympic representative because I didn't want our MNA to get their hands on my sponsor and act as a money launderer. So I can speak with some authority on the machinations of the selection process, so please, before you get to know somebody lets cut the insults shall we? I appreciate English may not be your mother tongue and your reading abilities and appreciation of our humour might not be up to speed either, but on this subject you'll have to accept what I'm telling you has some basis in fact.
That fact remains that there are hundreds of kids being sold the possibility of representing their country as racing windsurfers and they will be very disappointed at this discussion as will their parents. It is entirely wrong for a small group of very very specialist exponents within our sport attempting to advocate Olympic participation on behalf of all of us.

Judging by this sentence English isn’t your mother tongue! I’m guessing the rest is equally authentic 🙄

Just bc my English is more sophisticated than yours doesn’t make me foreign
🙄

Nothing to do with your "English" which by the way is just fine, it's your lack of understanding of what we refer to as a 'wind up' on the other thread. This thread is serious, there really is no need to be so aggressive. It is, I understand, difficult for colonials (if you're from the States, or Euros if you're from there, I've really no idea, but it is sometimes difficult to tell when we're joking or not. So the 'Knot my fault' thread is a joke, it's a wind up whilst getting a rise from an anti Core troll. If anything in that thread did cause you personal offence, it wasn't intended and you have my apology, OK, so lets leave the jousting at that, there's really no need, I'm not your enemy.

The Core-'ista aka CaptainCore, DWX, ChickenD!ken, et.al. are doing an excellent job promoting the Core kite brand - keep going muppets, you're doing a great job in convincing other people on this forum to go nowhere near the Core brand. :thumb:

Oh please don’t put me in the group of clowns... I’m not trying to convince you to go anywhere near Core. You are delusional if you think that. But I’m also free to express my preferences and talk about my passions! If that offends you it’s your problem not mine! The British bunch of clowns are in no way affiliated with me!

Captain relax! But you do realize you are cramping my style as ppl obviously associate you with me. So, if you wanna truce, stop clowning around. Make a good joke — you can! got it in your genes! — and I’ll be the first to send you a kiss! Make a tasteless joke and you might get me to fly off the handle. I’m pretty hard to handle, even for guys with big hands! 😊🤙

Congratulations - you, CaptainCore, and ChickenD!ken et.al. did it all by yourselves.
