topic was discussed before but some things changed, new gear appeared.
I do my research and seems like higher aspect delta shape kite boost highest .
Ive been riding Torches, Parks and Dashes but thinking about switching .
I know looping is not that great with XR5 type kites but its about going as high as possible.
Going over well powered is a must but how about switching to smaller board too?
What you guys think ?

Hard to say if it’s “the best”. Certainly a contender along with the Edge. The 9m megaloops and impressively so for a bow kite. It boosts crazy but it really does much more than big air. I won’t go out on my 9m above 30kts so that size won’t get truly max’d out but the 12m is a boss from 20kts onwards. XR5 really lives in that high-end and excels when it gets rough. Like my Labrador, it doesn’t care what we’re doing so long as we’re doing it. I have a 6m which I’m now slightly worried won’t get flown enough. When it’s gusting near 40kts I pack it in and at 35kts the 6m isn’t working hard. Great all-round kite that just makes it easy for you.
Would be nice with more bundled reviews whenever new models are released. I’d love to see them ranked by different testers but that doesn’t seem forthcoming and I guess people are quite sensitive about the whole “this vs. that”. Of course, the best reviews are the ones that compare predecessor with successor (XR4 vs. XR5 for example).
I’m 6’3 190lbs on a 144x43 carbon all-round board which suits me perfectly in virtually all kiteable conditions and with the XR being so well behaved all I’m ever doing is board work. I’ve got a 139x41 I’m saving up for and that’ll probably be the smallest I go.

Try boots for a season. They change how you ride and help you boost. You can ride a bigger board and go faster with boots (i find)

Try an Edge, Rebel and XR5. It is personal choice, all 3 get good reviews but there will be differences in performance and feel. I have only demo’d a rebel 2018 and Edge V9. Both great kites, Rebel is more accesable while the concensus is that the Edge requires a more advanced rider but has more boost when you get it right. I ended up buying the V9 in 9m only for old school. Kite is no good for waves or unhooked.
I do agree with the comment before. Going big is all about improving technique. I can get similar height with my Vegas 2016 compared to the edge V9. Hangtime is a different story though.
Can somebody please post a vid of a megaloop on a XR5 please. I would be amazed if the kite is any good at it. Just not that type of wing.

Well for a start too many kiters pimping for core and usually starts with... the biggest or best jumping kite..
If you want a real test of how high a kite can jump - line up 5 or so Unsponsored non pimpimping riders who do not know each other and have good jump skills on fast and slow kites.
Put them on glass flat water - no bullshit waves or kickers..
and you will see the difference between what jumps well and whats Pimped well.
If its from a magazine - forget it.
Theres a very good reason why this doesnt happen..

What is a 'well powered' for you?
A well powered for me is a max my legs can handle (*). That's like saying there are a new bicycles, and they go faster...Oh, and I ride 120/40cm board and v7 edges. Do I jump highest? Nope. See (*).

The question was about board size: yes, my understanding is the new xr5 was designed to keep you well powered so you can take a smaller board for your big air escapades without fearing a nose dive when the wind drops, provided you are on the right size kite; the XR is gentle enough so you can go a size up without losing control

Best boosting kite? Well the sponsored riders can get pretty much anything up to 15m+ in height. If you aren't hitting these heights regularly with your current kite you might do better off working on your technique?
Or do you mean easiest to boost high with? I could certainly believe it would join the ranks of kites that are easy to boost high with (have a wide sweet spot where technique isn't as critical).
I have had a few demos on them. Nice kites. Not for me at this point in my progression.

Putting all sponsored riders opinions and riding technique to the side,
construction , shape and potential of the kite is my question .
Is XR5 design and shaped to favor boosting or is it just user friendly all around kite ?
