in gusty winds i really miss the stability and gust eating ability of the 5 struts kites , it's me or i find 3 struters on smaller sizes a bit twitchy for waveriding on onshore to side onshore winds moving the kite , they seem in the need of reaching the zenith urgently everytime you turn the kite from one side of the wind window to the other while on a good designed 5 struts you can pívot turn in the middle in the wind window while drifting ( talking always in higher winds )...
I really do not recognize what you are describing here.. Can you elaborate?
Let me try to understand and summarize: Twitchy means they try to use the zenith? And 3 strutters do this more than 5 strutters?
Stability, what happens when a 3 strut gets unstable? Do they shortly drift and cath wind again, invert or fall down or something else?
Last gust eating... a 3 strut maybe responds a bit quicker with acceleration in a gust than a 5 strut. When the gust is over the 3 strut needs to slow down and maybe drift back again a bit /more than a 5 strut.. is this what you are talking about and refer to as gust eating?
I really want to understand, i was looking for the dictionary on kite behaviour terminology in KF but did not find it. To understand each other terms like stability and twitchy should be clear.
And since I am not a native speaker...
