Depower trow and trim customization

Hi,

I want to modify my Slingshot and overall Ozone bars, and put more depower throw…and in the Ozone more trim.

I specify I use them with any kite (at the moment Fx and Drifter).

So my question is how much you can do it before to f*** up everything (i.e. kite fall out of the sky)? There is a ratio between the length of the depower trow / trim and the every specific kite (bridle, safety system, etc…)?

Someone know it?

No, Racers have huge depower rope on Ozone kites...The kite will stall if not under control.

The kite only gets as input front vs back line difference,
Does not care if this came from throw or trim.
It's up to you, and the length of your hands...

If you wanna see how the kite reacts, just add small extensions to your back lines.

In general the more depower the less active and slower it gets.

You can make the throw as long as you like but I can't see much point in going any thurther than your arms can reach. This is a pic of my bar, I added a stopper ball so that when I let go - I can just reach the bar.

OP-

I've done it to my SS sentinel bar and plenty of compsticks.

I'm around 120kg, so always fly super powered up. That extra couple of inches of trim means I can dump the power super quick if I'm flying in gusty conditions, which is pretty normal around my area.
Helps that I'm 6ft6 with a huge arm reach. Probably wouldn't suggest extending the trim unless you've got the reach.

The slingy bars are easy to extend ..... Just make up a longer trim and use shorter pig tails.
My pigtails only have the one setting, instead of the standard 3 setting (knots) on the slingy lines.

Don't play with your steering lines.

A simple conversion will be-
Every inch you add to your trim - take a half inch off your pigtails.

Don't f@#k aroundvwith them if you aren't confident with making lines / Piggy's / etc

Sentinel is a muck around, but compstick is a 10minute job.

Ozone bars will be harder because of the PU tube.
You'll need to find a longer PU tube, or go without it.

Thank you guys for the help, of course is all about the front vs back line difference...my question was in fact about the degrees of the angle of attack…which is the best range and when it becomes critical, in terms of lengh of trow and trim…
But I guess I'll have to just try…add 5-10cm at time and see the reaction of the kite…

Not sure I understand exactly what you are asking but
Maximum throw needs a very short or no Chicken loop and a stopper just a bit farther out than you can reach. How much trim de-power you can add to this will depend upon the kite/bridle set-up. Anything more than when the back lines go slack enough to lose steering control seems useless.
Also, with the bar totally pushed away with this much de-power is not a way you would want to ride for any length of time. Poor steering and being pulled forward and off balance is no fun. If it just to get back to shore safely when the wind suddenly picks up or to handle a short massive gust it would be fine.
